Try I Saw Her Standing There for a great Beatles rock 'n' roll song. All pre-Rubber Soul. Bubble gum music, me butt. It's brilliant 'pop' music. Harrison did some good back up guitar work on Badge, by Cream, didn't he! In fact, he helped clapton to write it.

your right...it isnt about competition..its all about digging the music...i like both the cream and the beatles...but the subject came up and thats kind of what these boards are for...comments and open discussion...i love to share my views especially on the topic of music,as well as hear from others who may have a different opinion or perspective...

And this means what regarding music? Nothing. That Cream could play all the Beatles songs? Loads of people can play Beatles songs. Even more wish they could write them!
You really shouldn't think of music as a competition. It isn't. Loads of musicians can play better then Clapton, Bruce and Baker. But who cares? I love the blues - I play in 2 blues bands covering Cream, Rory Gallagher, Hendrix and Free stuff etc etc. But Beatles music is timeless.

I didn't say you were defending those 'orrible bands. I said you seriously can't compare them to The Beatles. Listen again to Hard Days Night. It's a great album. And one of Lennon's favourite songs was Help!

Some people aren't getting the point. Yes, "Yesterday" is a great song. But it doesn't rock. Cream rocked almost all the time, unless it was trippy psychedelic stuff. Not much bubble gum with this band. Lots in the Beatles, especially in the early years. You know it's true, so don't start bringing up "Hey Jude" nor "Eleanor Rigby" as why the Beatles are amazing musicians. Amazing songwriting? NO ONE IS DENYING THAT. They just can't play MUSICAL instruments like Cream can, ERGO...

for your info i do have those albums...but in comparison to the things they would go on to release from 1965-70 it is bubblegum pop...ive even heard lennon make a samiliar statement about the early years of the beatles...2nd of all,who here is defending n'sync or the backstreet boys?and your right about the beatles,hendrix(personally my favorite musician of all time)and dylan...

Cream will be a footnote in the history of rock 'n' pop from the 20th century. The Beatles will still have a chapter or two all to themselves, along with Hendrix and Dylan.

How can possibly even compare those nasty horrible bands like Nsync etc to The Beatles? Haven't you heard the Albums, Hard days Night,Help? The latter features a little masterpiece called Yesterday,etc, etc
Go seek out most Beatles albums, pre or post Rubber Soul, and they are superior to most of the crap put out today.
Now go away and come back with a long list of all the songs Nsync and the backstreet Boys wrote?
